a Monastic Complex

The area around Eirinis str. (Municipal Market), is located on the margins of the historic city center of Thessaloniki, next to the junction of Egnatia str, Monastiriou str, October 26th str and Lagada str., not far from the railway station and the city courthouse. It is characterized by scattered fragments of the early Christian and Byzantine Wall of Thessaloniki and many other important monuments such as the Church of the Agioi Apostoloi (a monastic complex of the 14th century), the byzantine water tanks, the Pasa Hamami (16th century baths) and more fragments from other eras thus making it an interesting part of the city that could be considered as historically autonomous and easily accessible.
